CAST_Marion Foale y Sally Tuffin eran dos jovencitas revoltosas con ganas de comerse el mundo. ¿Y quién no las tenía en el Londres de los años sesenta? Estudiaron diseño de moda en el Royal College of Arts y en 1962 lanzaron su propia marca, Foale and Tuffin, con la que popularizaron los minivestidos de colores vivos y de estilo pop. Ahora, el Fashion and Textil Museum de Londres las premia con una amplia retrospectiva titulada “Foale and Tuffin. Made in England”. En ella, se exhiben muchos de sus diseños y también se recrea la tienda-taller que tuvieron cerca de Carnaby Street. Quizás no alcanzaron la notoriedad de Mary Quant y Betsey Johnson, pero Marion y Sally aportaron su granito de arena al Swinging London, el movimiento cultural que sacudió los cimientos de la sociedad británcia de los años sesenta. La exposción se ha reforzado con el lanzamiento del libro Foale and Tuffin. The Sixties. A decade in Fashion, escrito por el periodista Iain R. Webb y editado por ACC.

Van estudiar disseny de moda al Royal College of Arts i al 1962 van crear la seva pròpia marca, Foale and Tuffin, amb la qual van popularitzar els minivestits de colors vius i d'estil pop. Ara, el Fashion and Textil Museum de Londres les premia amb una àmplia retrospectiva titulada “Foale and Tuffin. Made in England”, on s’exhibeixen molts dels seus dissenys i també es recrea la botiga-taller que van obrir prop de Carnaby Street. Potser no van assolir la notorietat de Mary Quant i Betsey Johnson, però la Marion i la Sally van aportar el seu granet de sorra al Swinging London, el moviment cultural que va sacsejar els ciments de la societat britànica dels anys seixanta. L’exposició s’ha reforçat amb el llançament del llibre Foale and Tuffin. The Sixties. A decade in Fashion, escrit pel periodista Iaian R. Webb i editat per ACC.

ENG_Marion Foale and Sally Tuffin were two bolshy girls who wanted to conquer the world. And who wouldn’t in London during the sixties? They studied fashion design at the Royal College of Arts and, in 1962 , they launched their own brand: Foale and Tuffin, who popularized colorful and pop-inspired mini-dresses. Now, the Fashion and Textil Museum take us back to the swinging sixties with the exhibition “Foale and Tuffin. Made in England”, in which they recreate their boutique, showroom and design studio at Carnaby Street. Marion and Sally may not achieve the notoriety of Mary Quant and Betsey Johnson, but both contributed to Swinging London, the cultural movement that shook the foundations of british society. The exhibtion has been strengthened with the launch of Foale and Tuffin. The Sixties. A Decade in Fashion, a book wrote by journalist Iain R. Webb and published by ACC.
